This could be a long-term thread for you folks to post links to your new uploads to either Airliners.net and JetPhotos.net.
First, some rules:
1. Only links directly to the photo. No thumbnails.
2. Only photo accepted in the databses. No in-queue shots.
3. Only post links to new photos. Not stuff uploaded weeks or months ago.
4. If you paste a link, you don't need to add code to hyperlink it. Links are automatically hyperlinked.
5. Try to post the shorter links that are right on top of the photo on its page, as that ones in the address bar tend to be extremely long.
With that, have fun guys (and gals)!

I'll start it off.
I was hanging out with Mel and we almost forgot that Allegheny was due to come in. We then remembered that there was a Mets game going onat and there was no way we could get close to get 31 arrivals at Flushing Marina.
I managed to sneak away to the dock for a few moments to grab this. I wasn't expecting it to get accepted, but it did. :)

I hate to break the rule and stuff but Jet Photos and Airliners.Net don't tend to except any of my shots. I have one on Jet Photos of a Martinair MD-11 at ACE and I have two on Airliners from JFK of the last Air France Concorde flight.
Recently I uploaded two shots to Airliners.Net that where in my opinion some of the best shots I have ever taken but they where not accepted.
I hope know one minds if I do post those two photos plus the one's I have on Jet Photos and Airliners.Net. When you think about it the two I have on A.net and one I have on JetPhotos are my most recent since they where the last excepted!

Those JFK shots are really very nice. How do you all get such photos? Do you work at the airport? I must say that at first I saw all these shots from you guys on jetphotos and in these forums and I thought how great the spotting must be at JFK, but then I tried out the places on your maps and it sucked compared to lots of other airports and to the pictures that I regularly see in these forums. Are there any better spotting locations at JFK than the ones on the site's maps? It hardly is worth it to take the time to go to NYC for the places listed on those maps. Anyway, nice shots!

While this topic should continue in it's own thread in "Spotting Planning & Review," I just wanted to ask whether you had actually spent any time at any of the spots on the map? The majority of all of the photos you see on this site are from those very spots. With the exception of those who get occasional ramp access, we all shoot from spots like Costco and local parks and still get great shots!
Have you been out with us before? (please start a new thread, if you like)

My point was that I (and probably other people) had high expectations for JFK based on what I had seen here and on jetphotos, and I was disappointed when I actually got here and saw how far away and/or boring the locations on the map were. I also was disappointed with the lack of any publicly accessible spots that can rival the other airports that I have been to. With the choice of where to go if I have a free day or two, JFK wouldn't be on my short list anymore.
Anyway, I don't get to NY often and haven't met anyone on these forums, but I still enjoy looking at your photos. Keep up the good work.
While this topic should continue in it's own thread in "Spotting Planning & Review,"
I don't have anything more to add, but thanks for pointing that out for the future.

MadDog is right. JFK has so much potential, and it's a shame that we often have to settle for locations so far form actual airport grounds that offer little view of the airport itself.
Photogrpahy at JFK is also very difficult without a 400mm lens. With the exception of 31 arrivals, you need $1,500 glass to stand a chance of getting anything full-frame.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. ACE isn't that great for spotting, in the morning you have the beach wich is ok, but not spectacular. In the afternoon you've got the 'hill' overlooking the taxiway (the Transavia shot) wich is pretty good. Then you've got the hotel (Hotel Beatriz Playa, the Niki shot) and the terminal (airside, the LTU).
And I just keep saying it, allthough people will continue to make the mistake, my surname is Radier, not Raider. Common mistake by Americans ;).

So now that I have a photo on A.net, I'm checking out all the various stats and other info they have available about your photos. One interesting one is a "links" page, that lets you see where viewers are coming from. Most of the hits on my F-14 photo are from either here or A.net, but a bunch came from a message board posting on Tomcat521.com, the "Chinese F-14 Tomcat Fan Club Online" in a topic named "VF-31 at Long Island". It's all in Chinese, but from what the Babel Fish translator can figure out, Frank from Shanghai Jinan China posted the shot with the comment "In on performance AJ-100, attention vertical stabilizer new symbol!"
Who even knew there was a "Chinese F-14 Tomcat Fan Club Online"?
The Internet is a strange and fascinating place...

Nice shots, John - I love the color of the sky! With my trip to Wrigley, I haven't gotten a chance to go through my shots, but I love the angles you get from Planeview on 22 departures.
Second shot doesn't look too bad to me, maybe a little soft around the titles on the fuselage & engine.

Here's one that just got uploaded to Jp.net. I know it was pushing the limits of what they would take but I'm really proud of this shot. I think in many ways it sums up our fascination with flight.

Congrats Tommy! I love when an artistic photo gets in any d/b!
It's been onmy desktop for a couple days since showed to me in the queue. I'm gonna have to take it down now so I don't look mainstream! lol

Here is one from a LAX local and friend of mine Dean Heald.
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5807787
That is fellow JP.netter Shane Stoffergan securing the Lear 45 that he flies for a well know family out here in Vegas. He gave us a tour and I was in heaven.
That wasn't the highlight of Dean's trip out here to Vegas. He also spent a few afternoons spotting from my truck in the Sunset road viewing area while I was at work. He was approached by a local newspaper photographer and asked a few question for a story. Imagine our surprise when it ran in the paper a few days later.

Hope you had a great time dean..come back soon!!

Thanks Phil, actually had a lot of trouble getting that first one accepted with a tigher crop, a bit wider did the trick.
