Interesting. (Probably a dumb question) Who are they operating the flights for?

Oh man, this has the potential to be awesome! Seeing an AWA bird again at LGA would really get me excited! That CRJ-900 is a cool plane, too.

Matt, what are the flight times?

Thanks a million for posting.

Josh and other interested parties. the times starting Sat Jan 14th are arrive 1259 depart 1410. The second flight starts Feb 18th and arrives 1729 and departs 1820 so it will be a wash as far as photo's till DST starts. And remember these are Saturday only replacing flights that are Airbus the other 6 days a week,.

Cheers

Is this as America West or US Airways?

jakbar
2005-12-18, 07:58 PM
America West doesn't operate CLT-LGA flights, so this has gotta be US Airways flights. But, unless they plan on spending the money to repaint planes for two months worth of flights, my money is on seeing the America West paint scheme at LGA!

ron how did you get the times? SABRE didn't let me pull it up today...

phil, they're US Airways Express flights operated by Mesa Airline.

josh, would be cool to see the plane painted in the new colors though.

Phil, not a simple answer. It is Mesa operating for US Express with planes painted in HP Express colors. Very confusing for all. I understand that all future CRJ-900 deliveries to Mesa will be in the new US Express colors, and when delivered ( I do not know their delivery schedule) those aircraft will be dedicated to the US Express side. I hope this explains things a little bit ?

Ron, that is what I figured. I'm very excited. I never got to see the CRJ-705s and this will supplement well. :)

Josh, Mesa is currently operating 10 CR9-900's for US out of CLT, if you where to go down there one day you catch about 30-40 departures all in HP Express colors going to places like ATL,BHM.MEM.MHT,SRQ,PNS.IAH,DFW,MCI.STL among many others.

Matt, the first flight has been in sabre avail for about a month and a half, the second around two weeks, perhaps you need a stronger prescription buddy (just kiddin)

Ron, thanks for that info re: CLT. I may have to go down there one of these days. I also always catch the HP Express CRJ900s at PHX whenever I go there.

Apollo is showing the 1 flight times as Ron stated.

When the 2nd flight starts times for the first flight are showing as:

Arrive 219pm depart 250pm

The 2nd one is the same times as Ron stated.

Phil, not a simple answer. It is Mesa operating for US Express with planes painted in HP Express colors.

Or, to put it in the terms given to me by a HP friend, it's "US Airways Express operated by Mesa d/b/a America West Express" if you sold it as "US" or "America West operated by Mesa d/b/a America West Express" if you sold it as "HP".

Yes, I can sell the flight as HP. At least for the time being.

So who here is going to be out for the arrival/departure of the CRJ900 on Saturday? I will surely be out there.

Ron/Matt...can I confirm with one of you that there are still no CRJ900s painted in the new color scheme? I just want to find out if there is any chance that the CRJ900 coming to LGA won't be in HP Express colors.

LGA777
2006-01-12, 10:24 AM
Josh, to the very best of my knowledge none have been repainted, so will be in HP Express colors. BTW there are two HP 319's (and 2 320's) in ROW being repainted so we may see a US 319 in the new colors soon but not at LGA, have to go to JFK or EWR to see it !

hey phil you need to answer your phone when you're looking for flight info. 5026 arrived to LGA around 1436 and was off the gate as flt 5075 at 1500. the crew was very welcoming and happy to introduce us all to the airplane. they were even willing to congratulate our fellow supervisor on the birth of his quintuplets last night. =D

the plane is pretty friggin long though, feels a lot like a B737 or E170 during the pushback. of course, since i screw up every single pushback of the CR7 on weekday mornings i managed to get this one direct on the diamond and straight on the line.

i didn't bother taking the camera to work today due to the wx. since i'm a trainer i was tasked with the first sign-offs for the airplane so i was working the flight and would not be able to shoot it anyway. rampside shots will come next week.

oh yea, it was in HP colors.

Now this was pretty damn cool. I had never seen AWA at LGA before...just one of Dennis Wong's shots of an HP E145 at the gate from way-back-when...and we almost didn't see it at all with the fog as low and thick as it was!

Josh was about to **** his pants, too. :)

Second Saturday in a row with not so hot conditions...but I wanted to catch this bird while I had the opportunity. I caught the 1235 arrival today from the Worlds Fair Marina parking lot. - Tail# N932LR

I was at LGA with Brian yesterday to try to get a better picture of the HP CRJ9 than we got the previous weekend when it was pouring rain. This week my arrival pic wasn't too great, but my departure pic isn't half bad:

http://www.nycaviation.com/hosting/012106-lga-n932lr-americawestexpress01.jpg

I sure wish the weather would stop screwing around on Saturdays, because I need to get one really nice picture of the HP CRJ9 at LGA before they stop sending it here in a few weeks.

Thanks for that info, Ron. I just hope that its the HP Express CRJ9 that continues to come here (because I REALLY want a nice pic of it at LGA), although it would be nice to get the one in new colors on one weekend.
