you can occasionally see an RAF VC-10 tanker,in vegas, when they deploy to Nellis to support their fighters when they hop the pond to train with our guys at Nellis. Last year I saw that beautiful shape roar aloft spouting gouts of black smoke,in company with 2 Jaguar fighter bombers, the roar was so wonderfully loud we heard it in our 727 cockpit while on short finals for 25L. I remember those beauties in their original BOAC blue, white, and gold, and the coke bottle whoooosh ! of their Conway engines, ghosting into JFK in the glory years of the late 60's -early 70's,when jets were jets, and the earth trembled, and the sky shook with every take-off.cool.cool

Yea who knows how they mixed up a H25A H25B C.with a VC-10...the VC-10 ICAO a/c code should be "VC10" like B752 B743 A346 E190 etc etc.

IAD (Dulles) gets the RAF VC-10 once in a blue moon there as well. One shows up every other month for a day or two and then disappeares again. I actually drove down there to get a shot last year of one that I was advised of. Those VC-10s do look sharp.

One of my most valued shots.
I'd love to see another one sometime.
