Concorde always took off on either 31L or 22R, regardless of what the active runways were. Noise abatement procedures require the sucker to steer clear of all the NIMBYs in South Queens.

The best spots were and still are Howard Beach for 31L departures and "Bayswater" for action on 22R. Both these locations are on the JFK Spotting Map you can find by going to Tools>Spotting Maps>JFK on the homepage. :)

I liked the Customs parkinglot for arrivals

UNTIL they put up the blue slats in the fence a few weeks after the last concorde flight.

31L was the best arrival....that Carnsie approach is cool from the ground!

The Longbeach beach thingie was good for takeoffs

BUT BY FAR!!!! The best spot in JFK was the Pan Am Rooftop parking. Here was a small clip that my dad took with me on the rooftop a LONG time ago! NOT CONCORDE (SORRY, that I did not plan well for a 6 year old)

WOW!!!! I would kill to see Pan Am 747SP live :)
I remember JFK in 1986 when I arrived for the first time in USA. Lots of Pan Am Express DHC-7s and Pan Am B727s.

Very nice pictures and video.

13L, not 31L. And the correct spelling is "Canarsie". (you're picking up one of Phil's nasty little habits...it's called "failing to proofread") :)

I have a good reason! 1 1/2 year old crying and trying to get Nicholas ready for karate while eating dinner!

Wow, I would have thought he needed no more karate lessons after that last display of his karate prowess... :)

Can someone who has real player identify what runway this is in the video?
