I know Phil is happy about this. Finally confirmed, AA will install winglets on 20 B757-200's starting in Nov. One B737-800 will get winglets in October.

Now those boring AA 757's at JFK/LGA will not be so boring afterall :)

Now we're talking! These AA birds are gonna look incredible with winglets!!! Do you think the winglets will be the shiny metal with the red, white and blue line going through the middle?

Thanks, Mike, for posting this news.

Holy ****.

Wow.

That's......wow.

I was just thinking about this earlier today, about AA and DL and whether or not they should get winglets. Wow.

I'm just blown away. It's like non-wingletted 737s are a thing of the past.

Do you need a new pair of Huggies, Phil?

You're welcome. You think Phil is excited about this news? :)

Hmmm, they'll probably go plain grey but I'll guess we'll find out soon.

I don't know if I ever cared much for the 757s with winglets. I think it takes away from the sleek shape of the body.

I think I would also prefer a plain gray winglet on both.

Here's my old edit of DL winglets:

Nice DL 738 with winglets Phil!

At first I didn't care much for the winglets on the 757's but after seeing them in person a few times at EWR I've gotta say, they're hot.

And what can I say...
I am very happy as well!
Being a big fan of AA, I wanted them to get winglets after seeing the CO 757s with them.
This is awesome!!

Just think, in a few year when all the airlines have winglets, you guys are going to be wishing to see an old plane with out winglets.

how weird, I thought I posted about this.

anyhoo, its cool to hear about something different in the works.

Apparently, the 738 being retrofitted will be a test bed to see if a fuel savings benefit is there as well.
