after hitting up my home ramp at LGA for our first ever CRJ-701 flight i met up with nick vollaro to head to JFK for a dose of heavy action. a few problems arose though. firstly, they were using two approaches, the VOR/DME to 22L and the VOR to 13L while departing 13R. this led to half of the traffic landing on 13 while we were at the mounds, and the opposite was true while we waited at the cargo areas. second problem, clouds. while the wx forecast called for partly cloudy skies (or whatever it was) there was a layer of clouds thick enough to darken out the ground. thirs problem, fence at the mounds. while we waited at the mounds for soemthign to finally arrive we watched as a group of (not so good) construction workers started putting in fencing posts in place of the guardrail that was there. the reason i say they weren't so good is that they used a backhoe to put the posts in, leading to a few very bent posts. anyway, here are the pix:

we should seek an update within the next week or so as to what is actually going on there at the mounds.
