For the past few years, my friends and I have been putting on some Independence Day festivities on a major street in far eastern Queens. Until a couple of years ago it was fun for us, but not much fun for onlookers, but that all changed 3 years ago when we found a new place to obtain supplies. Since then our crowds have increased from about 20, to about 50 mostly little kids last year, to over 100 adults and kids, many with cameras, this Fourth. It's really a good time and the crowds cheering makes it all worthwhile...
