Gee, my heart bleeds. The most expensive place with the worst food right in the middle of the area that represents New York. Funny how that Daily News article never even says why they closed, and continues to kiss their ass for zero reasons.

Where a meal that tastes like it was merely a properly shaped and colored rubber dog toy at ten times the cost of a normal eatery.

Where the bathroom is at the end of a tunnel system that I only heard about in my Dad's Vietnam stories, only to find a place where one can expect to find the cup of Christ and Indiana Jones if you opened the right stall. Water (I hope at least) all over the floor and there's a steady dripping of water with no conceivable point of origin.

Where service is slower than my grandmother....even though she's dead.

Actual prices:

Eggs, pancakes and two glasses of orange juice.... $25

Nachos, a piece of cheesecake and a cranberry juice.... $23

Seeing that dump close down to hopefully be replaced by a Cinnabon or Gray's Papaya.......Priceless.

Bye HoJo! Don't let the door hit you in the ass!

I just heard about it on NY1, i've never even heard of the place, but then again i never ever hang in times square unless some out of town relatives wanna check the place.

I think they should re-open a more family friendly pornshack or something. It ain't times square without the porno.

Damn, it looked awful, but I wanted to try it once before it closed. Howard Johnson's used to have a bunch on the side of I95 in Connecticut which were pretty good, but at least 15 years ago they closed them and they became other restaurants.

Phil...if you'd like a new spot for terribly overpriced crappy food/service/atmosphere, I highly recommend the Lindy's in Times Square. The prices you mentioned are pretty identical to those at Lindy's. They claim to have "world famous" cheesecake which is about $8 a slice, and not 1/4 as good as Junior's, which is cheaper.

Times Square IMO generally sucks ass. Any restaurant I've ever visited had the blandest food imaginable. The stores are nothing special at all, whoopee do Toy's R US has an indoor Ferris wheel, in a year or two Toy's R US will be out of biz anyway. Ah then there's the crowds of slack jawed hill Billy’s from Alabama who ask you stupid questions like (use a southern accent now)"where's the Empire State Building?" My response one day after fighting the mob of morons who can't get enough of staring into the MTV window to see some rap jackass who just shot his homeboy...."look up". Ah yes Times Square the one part of NYC I truly hate.
