It's insane that 727s are still "regulars" here. I just haven't seen one in action, yet. :? I presume it's parked over by GA, so maybe I'll see it tomorrow when we taxi to the runway...

Any word on how long it'll be there or, more importantly, when it might move? Keep us updated.

brian, i wound't call the 727s we get at LGA regulars. they're certainly more common than many other types but still don't fly in at the rate other types do. on another not, it's interesting to see action on the ramp stop completely while everyone stands there and watches rare birds taking off. i mean crews, ramp staff and even pax too. i'm just glad i have a front row seat to the action, well at elast of they're using 13/31.

besides, this is only the 3rd 727 visiting in the last month. before that i think we had about a 7 month hiatus on the type.

Even more remarkable to me than the occurances of 727s at LGA is this one certainly appears to be Cargo - and not just in title.

Apart from this one instance, does LGA ever get dedicated commercial cargo aircraft?

I thought they never did.

i don't think they ever had dedicated cargo flights out of LGA. maybe in the way old days, like back in the 20's, when the USPS still flew thier own mail.
