Not to be outdone by JetBlue with #SoFly, Delta has announced an update to the Fly Delta mobile app which adds social media sharing functionality as well as a few other improvements.

In their Taking Off blog on Thursday, Delta detailed the new social features of their iPhone and Android app. Passengers will be able to share their “Delta travel moments” directly from the app using a built in camera app. “From the trip overview screen, tap the arrow in the top right corner and share with your friends and family when you plan a trip, check in for your flight, and when you’ve arrived,” wrote Jonathan M., Product Manager, Delta Mobile. “Use the built in camera feature to add a personalized touch to your travel journey by posting your own photos with each sharable moment.”

Initially, the social sharing functionality seems to be limited to Facebook only, which is disappointing considering the heavy Twitter presence Delta has. Other improvements contained in Fly Delta 2.1 include the ability to book international flights, as well as purchase Preferred Seats within 24 hours of departure.
