The cast of Airport 24/7: Miami

An airport is about more than just airplanes, and the Travel Channel show ‘Airport 24/7: Miami’ gives the public a great behind the scenes look at the living, breathing, and working entities that make the Miami International Airport run like a well-oiled machine.

Now entering its second season, the show details what really goes on behind the scenes at an airport. From the director of security to the motorcycle riding police officer, the stars of last season’s episodes are all back. This season gives viewers an even more intimate view into the airports operations than last, with 13 new episodes over last season’s six.

At a premiere event in Miami on Friday, we got a sneak peek at the first two episodes of the season, and you will not be disappointed. The episodes cover a wide range of events, from aircraft operational mishaps, to the emotional assisting of a sick passenger involving the use of a therapy dog, to a tragic accident on an airport road.

The show documents the people of the airport in a truly unique way. For each event, the response is different and is documented in a way that has not been done before. What makes Miami so special is that each employee featured in the show truly loves their job, and that love shines through in the show. Even if you are not interested in airlines or airports, this show is more about the people, rather than anything else.

Catch the return of the series on the Travel Channel, Tuesdays at 9pm starting this week! In the meantime, check out the aviation encyclopedia that is Airchive, which is run by show producer Chris Sloan.
