A small plane operating for FedEx crashed in Wichita, Kansas, Tuesday morning, killing one person.
The plane went down and burst into flames in a field near the intersection of South Tyler Road and West 47th Street South in Wichita, according to KAKE. Maps put the crash site about 2 1/2 miles southwest of Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT).
Based on FlightAware data examined by NYCAviation combined with local media reports, it is believed the plane was a Cessna Caravan operated by Baron Aviation Services, a Missouri-based cargo contractor that flies on behalf of FedEx Feeder.
The flight had just departed from ICT on a scheduled flight to Garden City, Kansas (GCK).
