A decommissioned Transall C-160 nearly took out a group of aviation enthusiasts on its delivery flight to a museum on Tuesday.
The 63,935-pound, twin-prop aircraft touched down hundreds of feet short of the runway’s landing area at Ballenstedt Airfield in Germany, bouncing on a road where several eager enthusiasts, among the 1,000 in attendance, were watching.
The video shows the aircraft missing the crowd by just a few feet. The aircraft itself handled the incident fine, continuing to land normally moments later. No one was injured in the process.
The aircraft will soon go on display at the Wernigerode Air Museum.
