Video: AWACS Jet Nearly Crashes Into Tanker During Refueling Mission

A couple of AWACS pilots and a KC-135 tanker boom operator each probably needed a new pair of pants after this incident.

According to The Aviationist, the NATO E-3 Sentry was damaged and some crew members were injured as a result of this maneuver.

No word on where this happened or exactly what caused it.

    DAMN! My heart was racing and I started sweating bullets while watching that. I can’t imagine what it was really like to be there. Great job by both crews to stop this from becoming a real disaster.
