US Airways Fined $350,000 Over 757 Engine Repairs

US Airways operated a Boeing 757 that had not been properly tested after a repair, the FAA said Wednesday.
The agency proposed a fine of $354,500 for operating the plane on 916 flights without the tests.
On August 3, 2010, the FAA says US Airways replaced a leaking engine fuel pump on one of the plane’s two engines.
The FAA alleges that tests and inspections required by the agency following such a repair were not carried out before the plane returned to revenue service, and that the plane continued flying without the tests for four months.
US Airways has 30 days to respond.
