Weather permitting, Felix Baumgartner and the Red Bull Stratos team will attempt again to pull off the highest skydive in history at around 9:15 AM MDT/11:15 AM EDT on Sunday, October 14.
As of the 7:45 AM MDT update, ground level winds at the Roswell, New Mexico, launch site are cooperating, but winds aloft at around 700 ft are too gusty to allow for a safe launch. As we saw during the first launch attempt, the giant balloon is highly susceptible to even the slightest breeze and requires completely calm winds for a safe launch.
Those winds aloft are expected to die down for a spell at around 9:00 AM MDT, which means a launch attempt could come around then. Stay tuned for updates.
