A US Army helicopter accidentally dropped a missile over Central Texas Tuesday evening, forcing 100 homes to be evacuated.

No one was hurt when the missile gouged a hole, several feet deep, in the middle of a field, the Associated Press reported.

It wasn’t until ordnance technicians from nearby Fort Hood arrived and examined the missile that it was determined to be a training model without active explosives onboard.
