A Southwest Airlines ramp worker died after his vehicle collided with a people mover at Dulles International Airport on Thursday.
According to published reports, the worker was driving a Southwest baggage tractor Thursday morning when it was struck by the much larger people mover.
The man was transported by helicopter to Inova Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, where he died.
Dulles is one of the few airports in the world that continues to use Plane Mates, also known as people movers or mobile lounges, to transport passengers between terminals.
