• Soraya Billinge hated that her husband, Ian, would leave her alone every night to work the graveyard shift at Southwest Florida International Airport near Fort Myers. She called Ian’s boss at Delta Air Lines, pleading with her to change his schedule. When the boss refused, Soraya pledged to blow up 10 planes. On the bright side, she probably won’t have trouble finding company in jail. [ABC]

• Embraer has ditched its plan to build a 737/A320 competitor. They will, however, re-engine their E170/E190 series. [Flight Global]
• United Continental CEO Jeff Smisek says he frequently flies other airlines to spy on them, and he expects that airlines will do more targeted marketing and offer more choice (read: more fees, more complicated fare structures) in the future. [Associated Press]
• Colorado’s Aspen-Pitkin County Airport will spend $350,000 to build a video system to keep people from walking across an active taxiway. [Aspen Daily News]
