La Romana is JetBlue’s fifth destination in the Dominican Republic, following Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Santiago and Santo Domingo. It is an up and coming tourist a on the island nation’s southeast coast.

The service to La Romana International Airport (LRM) will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with introductory fares starting at $149. JetBlue first announced its plans to serve La Romana in May 2011.

JetBlue’s second destination in Costa Rica, Liberia is home to the new Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) in the country’s Guanacaste region, a growing haven for ecotourists and surfers. In fact, during the first month of service, JetBlue will waive baggage fees for travelers who check surfboards.

Originally announced in July, flights to Liberia will operate four times weekly. Fares start at $119 if booked by December 1st.
