• An Illinois man is suing Southwest Airlines because, he says, they owe him 45 drinks. [Reuters]

• Two months in jail: That’s the sentence handed down to David Riggs, a producer who decided to promote his Gary Busey-starring B-movie by buzzing 50 feet above the Santa Monica Pier in his Cold War-vintage Czechoslovakian fighter jet. [LA Times]

• Former U.S. Navy sailor Luis Robinson was deported to Panama yesterday, 34 years after he hijacked a bus in New York and diverted it to JFK Airport, demanding $6 million and a plane to Cuba, and killing two people in the process. [Associated Press]

• The future may be in smaller, unmanned aircraft, but the US Air Force still likes good ol’ fashioned explosions, as it just took delivery of its first five Boeing-built 30,000-lb Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs. [LA Times]

• The trade group representing most of America’s biggest airlines is suing the U.S. government-controlled Export-Import Bank over a financing deal it provided to Air India for the purchase of Boeing 777 aircraft. The Air Transport Association says Air India received more favorable terms than what U.S. companies would be eligible for, giving them an unfair advantage. [Bloomberg]
