After successfully supporting three separate overseas military operations, the US Navy’s first deployment of the latest and greatest electronic warfare aircraft has returned to base.

The VAQ-132 Scorpions and their new EA-18G Growler jets out of NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, returned home recently following the new aircraft’s first combat deployment, taking part in Operation New Dawn in Iraq, and Operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector in Libya.

The EA-18G was first introduced in 2009 as a replacement for the EA-6B Prowler. Its key mission is radar and enemy communications jamming.
