JetBlue Airways pilots for the second time have voted against being represented by a labor union.
Fifty-eight percent of JetBlue pilots voted against joining the Air Line Pilots Association, while 41 percent were in favor, according to a Bloomberg report.
CEO David Barger issued a statement thanking the airline’s pilots “for their thoughtful consideration of the issues in this campaign, and for electing to retain and expand their direct relationship with the company.”
JetBlue pilots had rejected a previous unionization push in 2009, and baggage handlers also said no to an effort by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in 2006.
JetBlue is the only major US carrier without any union representation.
