Delta Air Lines has released a new animation showing off plans for their new expansion into Terminal 4 at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The video comes as the structural steel frame of the new wing has risen above the ground, two years ahead of its scheduled opening in 2013.
Delta currently operates out of terminals 2 and 3 at JFK, which, originally designed for Pan Am for much fewer flights and passengers, have failed to keep up with the airline’s growth. In the $1.2 billion project, Delta will add 491,000 sq ft of space to Terminal 4 and will tear down Terminal 3 to make room for more aircraft. A new walkway will be built to connect Terminals 4 and 2.
