Fighter Jet Crashes at California Navy Base, Killing Two Airmen

A US Navy F/A-18 fighter jet has crashed in a field near Naval Air Station Lemoore in southern California, according to CBS 47 news in Fresno, killing two Navy airmen.

Smoke was seen rising from the base, which is about 35 miles south of Fresno, and 200 miles north of Los Angeles. Four aircraft carrier Strike Fighter Wings are based at the station.
