American Airlines Traffic Up 4.3% While American Eagle Soars 18.1% in November

AMR Corp. on Friday reported that American Airlines’ November traffic rose 4.3% to 9.90 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 9.49 billion RPMs in the previous year.

AA’s capacity increased 3.2% to 12.31 billion available seat miles or ASMs from 11.92 billion ASMs in November 2009. Load factor improved 0.9 points to 80.4% from November 2009.

American Airlines boarded 6.87 million passengers in November, up 2.7% from the same month of 2009.

Meanwhile, AMR Corp. said American Eagle’s November traffic increased 18.1% to 749.36 million RPMs from 634.72 million RPMs in November 2009. Capacity for November rose 14.0% to 1.03 billion ASMs from 0.90 billion ASMs last year and load factor improved 2.5 percentage points to 72.9%.

American Eagle boarded more than 1.61 million passengers in November, up 2.5% from November 2009.
