Photo Gallery: Riding Shotgun With the Blue Angels at San Francisco Fleet Week 2010

NYCAviation visited beautiful San Francisco this past weekend for Fleet Week 2010 as thousands of spectators hit the beaches, piers, and hills of the city to catch a glimpse of some of the best aerial action around.

NYCAviation was allowed access to some of the best seats in the house: on Fat Albert Airlines. Rocketing out of SFO in their signature tactical take off the Angels crew gave our correspondents a ride they will not soon forget: sixty degree banks, crazy descents, and buzzing boats as low as fifty feet off the water kept everyone on board riveted to their seats, at least when the zero G pitch overs didn’t force you right back out! With our guys in the “bubble” and on the flight deck, you can be sure this is a gallery you won’t want to miss.

(We had so many photos we built a separate San Francisco Fleet Week 2010 Airshow Photo Gallery for all the non-Blue Angels action.)

Many thanks to Fleet Week and the Blue Angels for their contributions to this article!

AWESOME photography as usual Jeremy! So jealous y’all got to go to Fleet Week. As a several-year attendee of SeaFair, Fleet Week is on my aviation bucket list. Also, I can’t believe the F/A-18 broke the sound barrier. Was that cleared/planned or did it just happen?
