The 13 kilometer Fox Glacier is considered to be among the most beautiful in the world, where as many as 1,000 people may visit in a day.

All people on board were believed to have been killed when a small plane carrying nine people crashed at Fox Glacier in Westland National Park in New Zealand on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

The fixed-wing aircraft carrying several tourists went down at Fox Glacier Airport, an airstrip located at Fox Glacier in Westland National Park on the West Coast of the country’s South Island.

A local police spokesman said nine people were on board the aircraft, which went down around 1.30 p.m. local time. “We believe all of them have been killed,” he said.

Another police spokesperson said the aircraft involved was believed to be a PAC Fletcher aircraft, which is also used for sky diving.
