Delta Connection Flight Makes Emergency Landing in New York Due to Broken Landing Gear

A Delta Connection jet has landed at JFK Airport in New York without its right main landing gear deployed. None of the 60 people on board were injured.

The aircraft, operated by Atlantic Southeast Airlines, was on approach to White Plains Westchester County Airport (HPN) from Atlanta (ATL) when the crew discovered that the right landing gear would not deploy.

For safety’s sake, the crew decided to land on the longer runways at JFK, which they did successfully at around 8:20pm.

It doesn’t need to be – its exits are close enough to the ground so as not to require them.
