AirTran Airways on Wednesday announced several new flights to Ft. Myers, Florida (RSW) from several airports in its coast to coast network, the airline said.
The company also announced additional service to Las Vegas for spring travel.
Beginning this spring, AirTran Airways will offer flights to Ft. Myers from Bloomington/Normal, Ill. (BMI), Buffalo/Niagara, N.Y. (BUF), Moline/Quad Cities, Ill. (MLI), and Rochester, N.Y. (ROC), beginning in March 2011.

Myers is one of the most requested destinations in our route network,” said Kevin Healy, AirTran Airways’ senior vice president of marketing and planning. “From the pristine beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Islands to the world-class golfing and fishing, not to mention baseball spring training, Southwest Florida is one of the most popular sun and fun destinations in America.”
Nonstop flights between Bloomington/Normal and Ft. Myers will be available beginning March 9, 2011. Nonstop flights between Buffalo/Niagara and Ft. Myers will be available beginning March 8, 2011, and between Moline/Quad Cities and Ft. Myers will be available beginning March 8, 2011.
Nonstop flights between Rochester and Ft. Myers will be available in Saturday service beginning November 20, 2010, and Monday, Wednesday and Friday service beginning March 9, 2011.
In addition to new Ft. Myers flights, AirTran Airways is also adding service from Indianapolis to Las Vegas beginning March 10, 2011.
The airline also said on Wednesday that it has signed a new financing arrangement with the German bank Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, securing committed financing for all Boeing 737-700 deliveries slated for 2011.
