Mexican regional airline Aeromar and Continental Airlines on Monday announced that the companies have formed a frequent flyer program partnership.

Continental’s OnePass program members will be able to earn and redeem miles on flights operated by Aeromar and first and business class passengers, Presidents Club members and Star Alliance Gold customers may access Aeromar’s Salon Diamante lounge in Mexico City starting on Aug. 30.

Aeromar had been an affiliate member of the Oneworld alliance through flights it operated on behalf of MexicanaClick and MexicanaLink, but lost that status when those carriers were grounded on August 28th.

Ami Lindenberg, Aeromar president, said the deal will “act as a cornerstone for future projects between both airlines.” Jim Compton, Executive VP & Chief Marketing Officer of Continental said the partnership will complement the airline’s extensive Mexico network and offer expanded benefits to Continental customers.

Aeromar has a network of 17 destinations in Mexico and San Antonio, Texas, in the U.S, with over 100 average daily flights operating ATR-42 aircraft.
