United Airlines Flight Hits Severe Turbulence, 25 Injured

UPDATE: Twenty one passengers and four flight attendants aboard United Airlines Flight 967 were taken to Denver hospitals with mostly minor injuries. The flight was carrying 255 passengers and 10 crew.

United Airlines Flight 967, a Boeing 777-200ER flying from Washington-Dulles (IAD) to Los Angeles (LAX) has made an emergency landing at Denver (DEN) after hitting severe turbulence over Kansas. Early reports indicate around 30 people on board were injured.

The Denver Post reports that one injury was serious, with the remaining victims suffering sprains, whiplash and bruises.

The flight originated in Rome (FCO).
