Icelandair, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air on Tuesday announced they have entered into a codeshare agreement that includes the launch of a frequent flier partnership.

The codeshare agreement will allow Icelandair to place their code on some Alaska and Horizon Air flights, the companies said in a statement.

The frequent flier partnership is scheduled to begin this fall and allows Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members to earn and redeem miles on Icelandair flights between Seattle and Iceland and throughout Europe.

Icelandair customers can book travel from Reykjavik, Iceland, throughout Alaska’s network for travel starting on Tuesday.

Rick Rasmussen, Alaska Airlines’ director of customer loyalty and marketing programs, welcomed Icelandair, saying the Reykjavik-based company “offers affordable and convenient options for our customers […] through their easy connections to popular European destinations.”

“We are pleased to strengthen the bridge for West Coast travelers wanting to explore Europe,” said Thorsteinn Egilsson, Icelandair’s general manager for the Americas.

Iceland air has nonstop service to Reykjavik, Iceland, and connections to over 20 European destinations.
