An Embraer E-190 wearing a Wisconsin Badger on its tail was unveiled Thursday, marking the seventh animal species represented on Frontier aircraft. The new Milwaukee-based, 99-seat jet will enter service on Saturday, May 1st.
Republic Airways Holdings, the parent company of Frontier, has been making a full court press to win back the hearts and minds of Wisconsin residents since earlier this month, when the company announced that Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines would be phased out and folded into the Frontier brand by next year.
Frontier is encouraging Wisconsin residents to suggest names for the badger, the winner to be announced on July 5th. No word on whether the winning namer will get a prize.
Badgers certainly are not nearly as cute as Frontier’s other animals: Larry the Lynx, Foxy the Fox, Grizwald the Bear, Jack the Rabbit, Flip the Bottle-nosed Dolphin and Jim, Joe, Jay & Gary the Penguins.
