Right after departure out of Turin, Italy yesterday, a Thomas Cook 757-200 (G-TCBA) sprung a fuel leak from its right wing. Flight 5739 enroute to Birmingham, England returned to the airport where its 231 passengers arrived safely without further incident.

The runway, opened up again after about an hour and a half, required some cleaning of course. The problem with the aircraft was a faulty vent channel float valve, which was repaired and sent back to Birmingham, and is said to have received a brief fighter escort to inspect the wing in-flight.

It is said that Depends adult diapers’ stock went up a half point within the first two hour following the incident.
