Newly released color footage shows President John F. Kennedy’s arrival into Dallas Love Field on November 22, 1963 — the last time the President would be on the aircraft alive.
The footage is interesting to any aviation enthusiast, showing several aircraft on approach, including Presidential support aircraft, as well as the touchdown and taxiing of JFK’s classic 707-version of Air Force One. The 8mm film was taken by William Ward Warren, who was 15-years-old at the time. Schools in Dallas had given children the day off for the President’s arrival.
The video was released on President’s Day by the Sixth Floor Museum, located on the 6th and 7th floors of the Texas School Book Depository, from which Lee Harvey Oswald shot President Kennedy on that fateful day.
