Following the devastating earthquake that rocked Haiti in January, American Airlines has said it will resume normal commercial operations to Port-au-Prince on February 19th, with the first flight leaving Friday morning from Miami International Airport. The new schedule from South Florida will include two flights from Miami and one from Fort Lauderdale

There will also be one flight four days a week from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport.  The routes will be operated by a combination of Boeing 737 and Boeing 767 aircraft.  American’s regional carrier, American Eagle, will also start service on March 12 to Haiti from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo and Santiago in the Dominican Republic using regional jets.
