Adorned with cupcakes and a supersized image of Little Debbie herself, Little Debbie 1 is AirTran’s newest theme jet, painted to honor the 50th anniversary of Little Debbie Snacks.

The plane’s unveiling coincides with the beginning of “The Great American Sweepstakes” in which visitors to LittleDebbie.com can win one of 50 AirTran vacation packages. Little Debbie boxes will also feature $10 AirTran ticket vouchers.

The newly decorated Boeing 717-2AT (reg N950AT) is scheduled to make its first trip today as flight 931 from Atlanta Hartsfield (ATL) to Jacksonville, Florida (JAX).

Will this plane fly on Saturdays? Little Debbie's owners are strict Seventh-Day Adventists. Their sponsored NASCAR ride has to cover the LD logo when they qualify and/or practice on Saturdays.

Little Debbies painted on the side of a new boeing aircraft WOW. Then the additional info on the SDA’s Saturday commitments WOW. If you digg that far into the story you just may run into the Millerites a 1843 offshoot of modern day SDA’s who had “correctly” predicted the “second Coming of Christ himself.” 1843-1844. It is encouraging that this group has managed a successful prediction in junk food…no offense I endulge!! In Australia SDA’s made up for it with “Ruskets” a healthy cereal.
