• The two Embraer pilots that we acquitted of charges related to the midair collision over Brazil that killed 148 people aboard a Gol 737 in 2006 have now had their charges reinstated by Brazilian authorities. They are accused of turning off their transponder and causing the crash from which they were able to safely land their Legacy 600 jet on what was supposed to be its delivery flight. Nothing will probably come of it since the two men are comfy at home in the United States. [NYCAviation]

• It was announced that the Red Bull Air Race World Championship will be flown in New York City. Over June 19th and 20th, New Yorkers will have an amazing reason to call 911 every single minute, and planes zoom up and down the Hudson near Liberty State Park just feet over the water!
