AirTran Airways has signed on All-Star basketball player Dwight Howard to an advertising deal. To celebrate the deal, AirTran has painted an aircraft in Orlando Magic colors. Dwight Howard is an Olympic Gold Medalist and 2008 Slam Dunk Champion and will appear in radio-spots, online ads and billboards for the Atlanta-based airline.

The Boeing 717-200 (registered N949AT) called “Magic 1” was introduced in Miami yesterday, and is the fourth AirTran aircraft to be painted in a special livery for a sports team, but the first for the NBA.
