Air France A380 Breaks Down in New York, Stranding 530 Passengers
Hundreds of Air France passengers were stranded Monday night after Flight 007, the airline’s evening A380 service from JFK to Paris DeGaulle, was canceled due to undisclosed technical problems, according to French media reports.
French radio network RTL says the flight’s
580 530 passengers were all transported to a single hotel, which, not surprisingly, was unable to accommodate all of them. The remaining passengers were bussed back to the airport for an uncomfy night in Terminal 1.
While technical problems with a brand new aircraft are understandable, it seems Air France has some work to do in the logistics planning department when it comes to the uniquely huge numbers of passengers that can be inconvenienced when the superjumbo breaks down.
