After receiving dozens of comments and emails from confused AeroGal customers (this page comes up right under AeroGal’s own site if you Google “Aerogal”), we feel compelled to add the following notes:

UPDATE: AeroGal to discontinue New York flights effective April 17, 2012.

NOTE: NYCAviation is not affiliated with Aerogal and cannot answer any questions about Aerogal services. Visit Aerogal’s official website for customer service: https://www.aerogal.com.ec/

Ecuadorian carrier Aerogal, aka Aerolineas Galapagos, has announced new daily service connecting Guayaquil (GYE) and New York (JFK). Flying is scheduled to begin December 7th using 767 equipment, though it is not yet clear where the aircraft will come from as Aerogal does not currently have this type in their fleet. In 2008 the carrier was purchased by Avianca-owner Synergy Group, and made a pact to begin using several Avianca 737 and 757 aircraft, including those which allowed them to launch Miami service. It seems plausible that the 767s would come from the same source, hopefully in Aerogal colors.

Schedule:

ETD GYE 2:30pm
ETA JFK 8:40pm

ETD JFK 11:30pm
ETA GYE 5:30am
