Two Aircraft Collide at La Guardia

Two aircraft clipped wings while in-line for departure at LA Guardia Airport on Friday night.

Air Canada Flight 723 to Toronto, and Shuttle America (Delta Connection) Flight 6461, on its way to Chicago, clipped wings while taxiing to runway 13.

No injuries were reported among the 103 passengers on the Air Canada Airbus A319 or the 66 passengers on the Shuttle America Embraer 170 were reported. The plane taxied back to the gate for the passenger to deplane and either join other flights later that evening or the following morning.

Damage to the aircraft is said to be minimal, but the planes will be placed out of service during investigation.

Air traffic at LGA was delayed for one hour after the 7:20pm incident.
